Tamar Braxton went to number one on iTunes last night with the release of her new single, Love and War, which she also performed on the season finale of Tamar and Vince on WeTV. The show, which focused on Tamar wanting to get back in the music industry and jump out of her sister Toni Braxton’s shadow, had many people wondering if the final outcome would be great. Well, seeing that the song has gone to number one on the official US iTunes chart, we believe so.
Upon the release of her first single of her forthcoming album, it quickly climbed up the charts to number two before best friend Lady Gaga felt she could show some support and get the song up to the top spot by sending out several tweets, asking her fans to buy Tamar’s song on iTunes, explaining her reasons to why she was promoting Braxton’s music.
The two have been good friends ever since Tamar’s husband, Vine Herbert, became the manager of Gaga’s career back in 2008 when she first started out at her new record label. The two women were later on introduced and it wasn’t long before they had become the best of friends – that should explain why they dine out together whenever Gaga is in Los Angeles, she considers them family.
Gaga wrote on her Twitter:
We love seeing other artists supporting each other, especially when they really deserve it and Tamar has been waiting for this moment for a very, very long time. She did that though! Ha. Listen to the song below and tell us if you’re feelin’ it.
