Jamie Foxx is what we would call a “jack of many trades.”
He is an actor, singer, comedian, producer, director, screenwriter, and radio personality. In other words, he is a “connoisseur of entertainment.”
However, even with that impressive list of titles, Foxx can now add “hero” to his resume. Confirmed by his rep, Foxx saved a man’s life by pulling him from a burning car earlier this week.
The driver, who has not been identified, had apparently skidded off the road and flipped upside down after hitting a ditch. The car then ended up right outside Foxx’s Hidden Valley home, just north of Los Angeles, California.
The renowned entertainer then immediately called 911 and ran outside to help the driver.
When Foxx had made his way to the vehicle, it was on fire with the driver still buckled in behind the wheel. However, despite the potentially deadly situation at hand, Foxx had managed to unbuckle the driver seat and was able to pull him to safety.
Emergency personnel, including police officers, and firefighters, arrived soon after.
In a statement, police were able to confirm “two witnesses that were near the collision scene ran to the burning, overturned truck in an attempt to free the driver,” who had lost control of a Toyota Tacoma and a hit a drainage ditch before it began to roll multiple times and burst into flames.
The 32-year-old driver, who was taken to the hospital for treatment significant burns, was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence.
As usual Foxx, who is typically very private about his personal life, has not mentioned this heroic act on social media.
However, I think many would agree that it takes a true hero to be humble about their actions especially when it comes to helping others in severe need. Jamie Foxx never seizes to amaze us. What can’t he do?!
