Wendy Williams’s incredibly popular daytime talk show has officially been renewed with an additional four years, bringing her TV success to the year 2020.
The 51-year-old gossip mogul will be ecstatic to learn about the news, although the announcement doesn’t come as a shock, considering how well Wendy has done in the ratings department.
Having improved its format with every new series, Williams’ show has completely dominated its competition for the last three years, beating out the likes of Ellen, The View, and The Talk.
And besides from impressing FOX execs with the ratings she is able to draw on a day-to-day basis, Williams also renewed her personal contract with Lionsgate in the hopes of producing several new television programs in the years to come. That contract was renewed until 2022.
Considering that ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ is a one-woman program with no co-hosts, the former radio personality is definitely holding her ground.
News of Wendy’s contract renewals comes just months after it was revealed that the wig fanatic had hired celebrity booker, Siobhan Schanda, in the hopes of landing interviews with a wider range of celebrities, including A-list names, such as Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria.
“Wendy was never really getting the caliber of stars like Kelly [Ripa] and Michael [Strahan],” a source revealed. “So they brought in Schanda. Wendy Williams will tone down the gossip to get bigger stars. A-list celebs want that friendly, soft, People magazine thing.”
How you doin’?
