Tammy and Bridesmaids actress’ husband Ben Falcone appeared on Chelsea Lately Monday and gave Chelsea Handler the scoop of what he thought of his wife before they dated.
“She was a couple years older than me. She was in college in my hometown where I went to high school [and] she was this goth person,” the director/co-writer of Tammy stated.
“She had blue hair and she was really scary. In a good way! Scary and pretty!”
The 40-year-old star continued, stating that before he met McCarthy at The Groundlings Theater & School in California he already knew who McCarthy was, revealing to Handler that he and his friends admired McCarthy for her gothic attire.
“I had long bangs and a couple of earrings and A Clockwork Orange shirts and Tevas. I had a whole situation…I was light-alt…The girls that I knew were also light-alt, and they would look—they didn’t know it was Melissa—and they would say, ‘Man, I wish my mom would let me dress like that,'” he said. “So I knew who she was all those years ago and then I married her many years later.”
In reference to what he thought about his wife’s bizarre and wild look, Falcone jokingly stated that he “just stared at her in horror. She wore kabuki makeup and blue hair and heavy black coats in the summertime. She had a whole thing.”
Sounds like the cute and rather odd funny couple were destined to be together.
