The famous model explained to British Vogue that though she’s able to deal with the nonsense that people make up about her, her family have a hard time believing that what’s written about their relative is not true.
“Reading things about myself that aren’t true drives me crazy,” she dished. “I’ve managed to block it out, but my family really hasn’t.”
“So they’ll read about me and then call me up saying, ‘Are you alright? I saw this happened’ and my mom will call and say: ‘Well, I saw you went to Vegas, when you could have come to the family reunion. And I’m like, ‘Mom, I swear, I’m in Europe!’ It’s insane!”
In recent months there’s been a lot of speculation on whether or not Kate is still dating her rumored-to-be ex-boyfriend, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The couple were said to have dated for two months, then it was reported Kate was pregnant and they broke up.
Note that her pregnancy “shocker” happened almost six months ago, and she has yet to show off some kind of baby bump. Clearly the tabloid story was made up and she’s not expecting a child to Maksim.
Upton then continued that being famous and having photographers with her at all times has its ups and downs. “I enjoy the red carpet for the first 10 minutes and then I’m like, ‘Alright….let’s go.”
“Sometimes the photographers get really bossy, like ‘blow a kiss!’ ‘smile!’ and I think, ‘You don’t know, mister, you’re not a model! This outfit is meant to be fierce, it doesn’t go with smiling!,” she joked.
“When I first did red carpets, I used to listen and do what they said — but now I don’t.”
Well at least now the photogs are aware that Kate won’t listen to them anymore. Haha — she seems like she’s got her head together despite having only been in the industry for a couple of years.
