Kanye West hasn’t been too happy in recent weeks, and hearing that he was listed at number 7 on MTV’s Hottest MC list only made things worse.
The soon-to-be daddy has shared his feelings upon finding out that he was beaten by artists such Eminem, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and his very own artist, Big Sean, who is signed to his label G.O.O.D Music.
Kanye says that if he hadn’t worn kilts on stage, his position on that particular list would have drastically gone up. In other words, his point is that people voting him so low in the MC rank is not because of his music or anything, it’s mainly based on his recent fashion sense.
He did however add that having a baby with a reality star and working with his artists on the album Cruel Summer could also be a potential reason why he didn’t even make the top 5, but hey – look on the bright side, your still rich, famous and you’re dating Kim Kardashian! What is there to possibly complain about?
But Kanye just couldn’t help himself:
“I feel like in order for them to put me as number seven they had to bring up things they didn’t like. They didn’t like the Cruel Summer album. And I’m like, ‘That’s a compilation! It ain’t all rappers on G.O.O.D. Music!'”
He adds that he was falsely pushed down the list:
“Possibly it could just be like overall rap MC swag, you know what I’m saying? What happens is with them, with these type of judges and people who review it, when you come in, I have the pink polo and the backpack, then I’m checking all the boxes – that Tribe Called Quest era and J Dilla and all that, you know, so they want to champion it. They don’t like Givenchy Kanye. They don’t like Kanye in a kilt. They don’t like Kanye in a relationship [with Kim Kardashian].”
Oh – and then he even boasted about this particular line in his song, Way Too Cold, in which he can be heard dissing Kim’s ex-husband Kris Humphries.
“I sang ‘Lucky I ain’t have Jay drop him from the team!’ Ain’t no bar, ain’t no bar in the entire past 12 months that’s hotter than that bar. That’s one bar! I come from this battle rap [background], I grew up in Chicago. I couldn’t believe it.”
Dude, chill your hype! You love yourself more than your fans do, and if you keep up this behavior, people will eventually stop wanting to work with you or even buy your albums.
Kanye was fairly placed on that list; there’s no way he is a better MC than Jay or Eminem – maybe Wayne though – so to rant about every little thing is starting to make him look like a biyotch! How does Kim put up with another woman in her relationship?
